Overview: RDS-Software Partnership Opportunity

You have the opportunity to deliver a suite of ERP applications targeted to small and mid-sized companies, and reap significant financial revenues by becoming a leading business and development partner with RDS Software.

We enable you to achieved rapid market success in small business markets by marketing Presto ERP which offers companies the basic tools they need without the complexity or expense of the high-end ERP packages. By creating a set of vertical market templates and wizards, companies can get the basic ERP functionality that they need with minimal effort and expense.

Other companies failed trying to bring ERP to the small business market because some only made general Web-enabling changes to their high-end ERP software that did nothing to reduce the cost and time to implement ERP. Even their ASP approaches were flawed since customers still required extensive consulting with the hosted applications. RDS can deliver either an ASP or intranet-based application for under $20,000 and require only a few hours to set up.

RDS starts with the basic accounting features, allowing users to import data from the leading basic accounting packages. These features can be automatically linked to the following ERP functions that are also integrated with each other:

    • Cost accounting, sales analysis, profit and loss analysis and other financial management capabilities
    • Inventory management, including inventories warehoused in several locations
    • Purchase order management from issuing purchase reqs to receipt and payment for actual orders
    • Production cycle management from issuing production requirements to shipping finished products
    • Sales cycle management that addresses the process from initial customer order to shipping products and paying commissions to sales reps
    • Tracking and managing inventories requested from and delivered to subcontractors
    • Physical and fiscal tracking of company assets
    • An integration module that lets companies maximize e-commerce, CRM and other Web applications they have or plan to have.

Understanding that probably 80% of companies use only 20% of the capabilities of most software programs, Presto ERP allows companies to enter appropriate data in templates designed for specific vertical markets, then wizards will walk users through the set up process. RDS’ partner will be able to provide consulting services to companies that want to take advantage of the other product capabilities.

Presto ERP has three main components. The Application Server runs all of the Presto application modules and is currently written in COBOL, which can be quickly adapted to run on all operating systems (OS/390, OS/400, Unix, Windows, Linux). The Database Server allows customers to integrate the most well-known databases (IBM DB2, Oracle, MS SQL).

The Web Server is a front-end Java-based program that allows users with any Web browser to access and run Presto ERP’s features. This server also enables Presto ERP to integrate with e-commerce, CRM and other Web-based applications. The partner will receive all of the modifiable source code and documentation so the company can develop forms, make modifications or create new features for add-on sales.

Presto ERP can be delivered through an ASP model in which customers pay monthly fees for using the various modules. However, Presto ERP’s ASP architecture requires that a customer’s data reside on the same server as the application. For companies that are uncomfortable with this arrangement, they can purchase the application to install on an intranet server.

RDS requirements for partners are straightforward but critical to the selection process. RDS wants a partner that is able to provide technical support and product enhancements based on market demands, has a strong market position and has the financial and marketing resources to engage in a national campaign. RDS also will require a one-time licensing fee plus royalties based on ASP fees and/or software sales.

RDS will provide extensive training and technical support to get the partner’s staff ready to launch Presto ERP, followed by basic on-going technical support. RDS will also provide support for product localization and general marketing assistance.

RDS-software began in 1993 and has become the most successful ERP application company in Italy. The company has several dozen of the largest Italian enterprises as satisfied customers, as well as several small and start up companies.
