Asset management: Asset Manager

Asset Manager covers asset management requirements with a high-level application that covers all stages of an asset's life cycle: budget, statutory-fiscal reporting, and management reporting.

The module offers:

Permanent file for fixed assets with the option to use settings to customize the asset card to include information such as investment contract number, number plate (if a vehicle), cost center, physical location, investment type (process/product), etc.

Automatic calculation of statutory depreciation, fiscal depreciation, management depreciation, revaluations and writedowns. These calculations can be recorded (in the statutory accounts or off the books) both by nature and by purpose (cost center or department). The simultaneous handling of statutory-fiscal and management depreciation schedules ensures that various forms of reporting can be obtained with accounting integration.

The calculation of depreciation on a monthly, quarterly, six-monthly or annual basis.

Monthly budget for depreciation - both for statutory-fiscal and management purposes.

Simulation of depreciation calculations.

Calculation of depreciation using fiscal percentages applied on a constant basis.

Calculation of depreciation using fiscal percentages applied on a reducing-balance basis.

Calculation of depreciation over the shelf lives of the assets, on a monthly basis.

Calculation of depreciation over the shelf lives of the assets, based on the volume of production units per period.

Fiscal books.

Transfers between physical locations or responsibility centers

This module tracks the asset over its shelf life, retaining its history in terms of physical location and cost center (department). In fact, it is possible to quickly determine the status of a given asset on a certain date, or to identify which assets were assigned to a physical location or cost center on a given date.

This information allows the calculated depreciation to be allocated to the cost centers concerned. Transfers include the reclassification of the related historical cost and accumulated depreciation. Asset Manager also handles partial movements by considering them in proportion to the total quantity or value concerned.

Reporting

Asset Manager reporting allows the user to design the layout of the asset cards so that queries and printing requests can be settings-driven or customized.

The use of settings enables the user to position data, create totals and determine the printed formats for both management and fiscal reporting purposes. Each report can be integrated with Excel, as can all the other RDS modules.
